Responsibilities
- Assist under the direction of the primary operating surgeon in perioperative care for surgical patients, including exposure, hemostasis, tissue handling, and instrument setup
- Function as an advanced practice RN within the operating room, coordinating and delegating perioperative care while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety
- Collaborate with the surgical team to plan, execute, and evaluate surgical cases; provide leadership and professionalism in the OR
- Ensure accurate intraoperative documentation and timely communication with the anesthesia and nursing teams; support Epic/EHR workflows as applicable
- Maintain patient privacy and dignity, adhere to standards of conduct, and contribute to a collaborative, high-quality perioperative environment
- Participate in assigned quality monitors and continuously support safety and infection control practices
- Manage call responsibilities as required (at least twice per week and every third weekend)
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor (preferred)
- Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) credential
- Completion of an approved didactic RNFA course
- Minimum 2 years scrub and circulate experience in an acute care facility
- Minimum 2 years RNFA experience; demonstrated experience in primary spine, orthopedics, and robotic surgeries
- Epic experience or strong proficiency with Epic systems
- Current professional liability insurance (PLI) and insurance documentation per facility policy
