Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, patient-centered care for mixed-acuity PCU/IMC/MS Telemetry patients, including post-MI, CVA, renal failure, ortho/trauma surgery, post-op general/ENT, and overflow medical cases.
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac and other infusions, and perform basic hemodynamic assessments.
- Administer medications, start and manage IVs, and perform peripheral, PICC, or central line care as indicated; participate in insulin and heparin protocols as needed.
- Provide respiratory support when indicated (HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, non-invasive airway management) and perform tracheostomy care if required; interpret ABGs and respond to respiratory changes.
- Manage wound care, wound VACs, chest tube care, and general post-operative care; assist with feeding tube management.
- Collaborate with PT, Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response; document thoroughly in EPIC and communicate via SBAR.
- Maintain unit safety and be prepared to float to sister units as needed to meet acuity and census demands.

Requirements
- Active NY Registered Nurse license (in hand to submit)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; PALS and TCAR preferred
- Experience: Minimum 1 year RN experience; PCU/IMC experience required within the last 3 years
- Setting experience: Telemetry/PCU/IMC/step-down care; proficient with EPIC and Pyxis; SBAR documentation
- Ability to work in a mixed-acuity PCU environment with patients ranging from MS Telemetry to post-op and overflow medical; float requirements as needed
- Travel eligibility: First-time travelers accepted; local candidates must be more than 50 miles away from the assignment location; comply with radius restrictions and other compliance guidelines
- Education: RN licensure (education completed through an accredited nursing program)
