Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed respiratory therapies and monitor patient response
- Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation, adjusting settings based on patient assessments and laboratory data
- Monitor respiratory status, perform daily rounds with MICU/SICU teams, and document care
- Participate on the Code Blue team and respond to respiratory emergencies
- Utilize lung-protective ventilation strategies and document ventilator decisions in the medical record (EPIC)
- Assist with airway management and extubation readiness as appropriate
Requirements
- Active MA Respiratory Care license and RRT certification
- BLS certification; NPS and/or ACCS preferred
- 5+ years of recent experience in a Level 1 trauma facility
- Recent critical care experience in MICU and SICU
- Proficiency with lung-protective ventilation; able to make ventilator decisions based on assessments and labs
- EPIC experience required
