Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Travel) in Utica, NY. Start date: 06/15/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,125–$2,302 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Night shift on a 2x3 schedule. Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients across Med Surg, Oncology, Hematology, Nephrology, Endocrine, GI, Dermatology, and General Medicine units; common diagnoses include cancer, ESRD, GI issues, and related conditions.
- Administer medications and IV therapies, operate IV pumps, perform assessments, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate as needed.
- Float to related units per staffing needs; collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan and deliver comprehensive care; support discharge planning and patient education.
- Document accurately in EPIC EMR; maintain clear, timely, and compliant nursing records; ensure charting reflects current status, treatments, and patient education.
- Manage unit equipment and patient safety measures, including use of specialty beds, NG tubes, and other pertinent devices; adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Monitor adult patients (18+) for progression of illness, treatment responses, and potential complications; communicate findings to physicians and the care team.
Requirements
- Licensed Registered Nurse with an active NY license; Nursys license verification for RN licenses
- Certifications: Current AHA BLS, NIHSS, and Chemotherapy Certification required
- Experience: 2+ years in Med Surg and Oncology settings
- EMR: Proficiency with EPIC
- Travel experience required; willingness to float to related units as needed
- Driver’s license with address matching demographics; RTO (reason for travel time off) must be included at submission
- Local rate eligibility applies for locally based candidates within 75 miles
