Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care per physician orders and established guidelines.
- Monitor patient conditions, identify significant changes, and communicate with the care team; document findings in the EMR.
- Manage ventilator support, airway clearance, and adjunct therapies as prescribed; adjust therapy per protocol.
- Educate patients and families, provide discharge instructions, and document education provided.
- Maintain respiratory equipment, perform cleaning, disassembly/assembly, and preventative maintenance; tag equipment for maintenance or repair as needed.
- Transport infants to/from referral health systems when required; participate in delivering high-quality critical care per patient care guidelines.
- Complete all required documentation, including order entry, verification, medication charting, patient safety/incident reports, and equipment tags; support inventory and supply management as needed.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Therapist license with the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care; primary sources verified prior to start.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications prior to start (ACLS and PALS through American Heart Association; NRP via RQI Partners).
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a hospital setting; guaranteed 36 hours per week.
- Authorized to work in the United States for a travel assignment.
