Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations for residents, addressing communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals; provide direct therapy to residents.
- Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document progress in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team (nursing, rehabilitation, social work) to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Educate residents and families about communication strategies and swallowing safety; provide caregiver training as appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with documentation, coding, and reimbursement practices within the long-term care setting.
Requirements
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license (or eligibility for licensure) in the United States; Maryland licensure may be required for this assignment.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Experience in a healthcare setting; long-term care experience is preferred.
- Ability to work a 13-week travel assignment with guaranteed 35 hours per week; shift coverage as required by the assignment.
- Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
