- Clinical scope: RRT in inpatient settings with Adult ICU, PICU, and NICU Level III requirements; teaching hospital experience preferred
- Scheduling notes: weekends as needed, no on-call; schedule flexibility is required
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including adults, PICU, and NICU Level III units
- Manage ventilator support, airway care, airway clearance therapies, inhaled medications, and weaning protocols
- Monitor patient response to therapies, adjust treatments as directed, and document findings promptly
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans; respond to respiratory crises as needed
- Document all interventions in the EMR (Epic) and maintain accurate, complete patient records
- Adhere to facility policies, safety, and infection control protocols; participate in rounding and family communications as assigned
Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with NBRC verification; CRT not accepted
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP required (NRP required upon submission)
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in respiratory care
- Inpatient experience in Adult ICU, PICU, and NICU Level III settings; teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required
- Prior travel experience is preferred; all employment history details (facility type, bed count, EMR) should be well documented
- Reliable transportation is recommended due to limited public transportation options in the area
