Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for telemetry patients, including continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm assessment
- InterpretTelemetry strips and manage cardiac drips within orders; respond to rhythm changes per protocol
- Administer medications and IV therapies, monitor for adverse effects, and adjust care as prescribed
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans; document clearly in the electronic system
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, manage patient flow on a 36-bed unit with 1:3–1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios
- Respond to emergencies and escalate concerns per unit protocol; participate in morning huddles and shift handoffs
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse licensed in Kansas (KS RN)
- Education: Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher
- Experience: at least 1 year of Telemetry RN experience in a hospital setting
- Certifications: BLS required; must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to submittal; proficiency reading telemetry strips and cardiac drips
- Eligibility: Ability to work on a tele unit with potential short-term float to adjacent units; weekend shifts required (Fri–Sun)
