Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adolescents with psychiatric and behavioral health needs, using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation).
- Develop and periodically update individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; monitor outcomes and adjust as needed.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor for effects, and implement safety and crisis-intervention procedures as required.
- Support patients aged 5 and up with psychiatric illnesses; some patients may require medical monitoring and coordination of medical care.
- Document care accurately in the patient record; communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members; participate in rounds and discharge planning as appropriate.
- Maintain a therapeutic, safe environment, manage stress and de-escalation during crises, and provide education to patients and families as part of the treatment plan.

Requirements
- Education: 2-year Associate degree required
- Licensure: Valid State of Maine RN license
- Certifications: BLS Certification required; CPI training must be current prior to start
- Experience: At least 1 year of previous experience in mental health nursing
- Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; strong teamwork orientation; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress setting
- Work eligibility: Ability to provide coverage for 24/7 shifts
- Geographic: Candidate must reside outside of a 50-mile radius
- Licensure discipline: Note: Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered
