Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, travel assignment in Pocatello, Idaho. Start date 08/17/2026. Duration: Weeks. Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts. Weekly pay: $1,630–$1,730 per week. Guaranteed hours: none. Setting: adult/geriatric med/surg with 48-bed capacity in an acute care setting. This role requires travel experience and the ability to work in a busy Med/Surg/Telemetry environment with evolving patient needs.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatrics in Med/Surg/Telemtry, including patients with sepsis, respiratory failure, post-op needs, AKI/renal issues, trauma, GI conditions, and isolation precautions.
- Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, administer medications (including insulin and blood products), perform IV starts, and manage vascular access.
- Support post-op and specialty care tasks (chest tubes, drains, wound care/Wound Vac, neuro/thoracic monitoring, dialysis pre/post care) and respond to rapid changes in condition.
- Perform clinical duties such as ABG interpretation, hemodynamic assessment, and use of the rapid response/code team when indicated.
- Maintain charting in Epic, document care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Services, Interpretation, Radiology, Transport).
- Adhere to infection control, isolation precautions, CIWA/substance withdrawal management, and safety protocols; participate in team huddles and escalation processes.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Idaho or a Compact state, in hand at submittal
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience preferred; travel experience required; Level II trauma experience preferred
- Proficiency with Epic charting; Med/Surg and telemetry care competency; ability to perform IV starts, wound care, drains, and post-op monitoring
- Ability to work Nights, 3x12-hour shifts; comfortable floating to other units as competencies permit
- 100-mile radius rule: local candidates must be >100 miles away from the assignment location
- Onboarding and start-up: core items/labs completed within 48 hours of contract signing
- Pre-approved time off: 1 per contract
