Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg travel assignment in Pocatello, Idaho. Start date: August 24, 2026. Duration: Weeks. Weekly pay: $1,644–$1,697 per week. Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour. Setting: hospital-based Med/Surg unit caring for adults and geriatrics in a 48-bed unit.

- Pre-approved time off: 1 occurrence per contract
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg unit, including post-operative and medical patients
- Monitor patient status, interpret vital signs and laboratory data, and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Administer medications and IV therapies, manage IV/PICC/central lines, perform phlebotomy, and assist with blood product administration
- Manage airway support as needed (nasal cannula, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, non-invasive ventilation) and provide tracheostomy and post-op airway care
- Perform wound care (including wound VAC and surgical drains), post-op recovery support, and care for renal issues such as AKI and post-dialysis needs
- Operate in telemetry/cardiac monitoring, interpret ABGs, and support procedures like PCA administration
- Implement CIWA/substance withdrawal protocols, maintain isolation precautions, and engage with Rapid Response/Code teams as appropriate
- Document care in Epic, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and coordinate with ancillary services (Pharmacy, Respiratory, Social Services, Radiology, etc.)
Requirements
- Active State of Idaho RN license or Compact license in hand at time of submittal
- BLS certification required
- Clinical experience: 2 years preferred; travel experience required
- Trauma Level II experience: preferred
- Float: permitted if competencies are met
