Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, Utica, NY. Travel assignment starting 08/24/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range $2,130–$2,318 per week with guaranteed 36 hours. Shift: 2x3 Days. You’ll work on a Med/Surg Stroke Stepdown unit in a hospital setting, caring for adult patients with stroke and related medical conditions.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults on the MS Stroke Stepdown unit, including monitoring neuro status and vital signs
- Administer medications, manage IV pumps, and support N/G or feeding tubes as needed
- Perform NIHSS assessments; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition per protocol
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, and therapy teams; document in the electronic medical record
- Assist with activities of daily living and discharge planning; educate patients and families on stroke care and recovery
- Maintain safety, infection control, and equipment checks; participate in cross-coverage across the unit as required
Requirements
- Current New York RN license
- 2+ years of Med/Surg experience with stroke stepdown
- Travel experience required
- Certifications: current AHA BLS; NIHSS (NIHSS is required for this unit and may be obtained prior to start)
- Driver’s license with address that matches demographics
- Ability to work in a hospital Med/Surg stroke stepdown setting and float to related areas as needed
