Responsibilities
- Provide labor and delivery nursing care for high-risk obstetric patients, including assessment, monitoring, and timely escalation of concerns
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean section procedures; support recovery and postpartum care as needed
- Monitor fetal status with external and internal electronic fetal monitoring; interpret tracings and respond to non-reassuring patterns; IUPC experience beneficial
- Neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessment; collaborate with the NICU team as indicated
- Manage postpartum/couplet care, breastfeeding support, and mother–baby bonding in line with best practices
- Administer medications and manage obstetric emergencies (e.g., hemorrhage, preeclampsia/HELLP, magnesium sulfate, epidural care); maintain sterile technique and IV access
- Conduct triage in the labor suite; maintain thorough EPIC charting and multidisciplinary communication

Requirements
- Licensure: WA RN license in-hand or WA Compact licensure accepted
- Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience; first-time travelers accepted; experience at facilities with 200+ deliveries preferred; 100–200 deliveries will be considered
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate OR Relias Fetal Monitoring required (hardstop: all listed certs must be current)
- Special skills: EPIC charting experience required; able to perform Sterile Vaginal Examination (SVE); vaginal delivery, cesarean assistance/recovery, EFM, neonatal resuscitation, and couplets/mother–baby care
- Documentation: Willing to disclose any background/Nursys hits at submittal; RTO must be provided at time of submittal
- Scheduling: Ability to work weekends; must be able to float to Postpartum as needed
- COVID-19: COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu status unknown
