Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults on an oncology med-surg inpatient unit, including assessment, planning, and evaluation of care.
- Administer medications, monitor patient responses, manage IV therapies, and address oncologic symptom management (pain, nausea, fatigue) per orders.
- Monitor and document patient status, including vital signs, labs, and progress notes, using electronic medical record systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, and adherence to clinical protocols; respond to clinical changes and escalate rapidly as needed.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge planning, and symptom management; document education provided.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in oncology-related med-surg care on an inpatient unit
- Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIHSS certification
- Ability to work in an acute inpatient oncology setting and adapt to unit workflows
- Willingness to travel for a temporary assignment and to meet assignment requirements
- Eligible to practice as a registered nurse in the United States (as applicable to the assignment location)
