Travel Surgical Tech Job

York, ME
Contracted
York Hospital
Mid Level
Begin a pivotal journey as a Surgical Tech in York, Maine, where your precise hands and thoughtful vigilance empower our surgical teams to deliver life-changing care. In this specialized role, you’ll be at the heart of the operating room, preparing and passing instruments, maintaining a flawless sterile field, and supporting surgeons with speed, accuracy, and calm under pressure. From routine procedures to more complex cases, your expertise will help ensure patient safety, optimal outcomes, and smooth OR flow from prep to closure. Beyond the routine, you’ll have the chance to refine techniques, learn new approaches, and expand your professional horizon within the surgical specialty. And when you’re off the clock, Maine’s seacoast region welcomes you with picturesque towns, candle-lit lobster shacks, and coastal trails that reveal the state’s rugged beauty in every season. York’s charm sits beside beaches and lighthouses that have drawn artists and adventurers for generations, inviting you to explore, recharge, and appreciate the serenity that complements the high-energy pace of the OR.

Location benefits extend beyond the immediate appeal of York. You’ll enjoy the advantages of working in a coastal community with a strong sense of history, access to fresh seafood and outdoor recreation, and a high quality of life that supports work–life balance. The opportunity to be deployed across multiple locations across the United States adds breadth to your experience, exposing you to diverse hospital settings, OR cultures, patient populations, and clinical challenges. Whether you’re refining sterile technique on a busy metropolitan floor or supporting quaternary-care procedures in specialized centers, you’ll gain exposure that sharpens your clinical judgment while expanding your professional network. The scheduling flexibility and guaranteed hours provide stability as you navigate travel assignments, with the chance to build a portable, in-demand skill set that opens doors to future leadership roles in perioperative services.

In this role, you’ll own key responsibilities that form the backbone of safe, efficient surgical care. Prepare the sterile field and instrument arrays, anticipate the team’s needs, and maintain meticulous counts of sponges, sharps, and specimens. Assist surgeons and circulators during procedures, handling instruments with precision, maintaining patient positioning, and ensuring equipment readiness. Manage instrument processing and turnover to support rapid case flow, while upholding the highest standards of aseptic technique and patient safety. You’ll have opportunities for professional growth within the specialty—whether you pursue advanced scrub roles, expand into specialty areas such as neurosurgery or orthopedics, or mentor newer teammates. The role also includes competitive benefits: a weekly pay range of $1,774 to $1,853, housing assistance to help you settle in, a potential sign-on or completion bonus, and extension opportunities to continue your journey with the company. You’ll work with a team that values reliability and mutual support, backed by 24/7 assistance from our travel-support network to address any needs that arise on assignment, anywhere and anytime. The contract emphasizes guaranteed hours—36.0 per week—providing consistent income as you deliver high-quality perioperative care. Start date is 03/16/2026, with your duration defined in weeks, designed to fit your schedule and career goals. You’ll receive comprehensive onboarding and ongoing clinical resources to help you thrive in a dynamic environment while maintaining the balance you deserve.

Our company is built on a foundation of empowerment and growth. We are committed to advancing your career within a nurturing, evidence-based culture that values your contributions and your well-being. You’ll find approachable leadership, structured pathways for development, and a supportive team dedicated to helping you reach new clinical and professional milestones. This is more than a job; it’s an opportunity to contribute meaningfully, expand your skill set, and join a community that places your progress at the center of our mission.
