Responsibilities
- Operates computed tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes.
- Administers or assists with contrast media as ordered by Radiologist; monitors patient response.
- Assists radiologists during interventional procedures using CT guidance (biopsies, injections, drainages, etc.).
- Maintains quality control for the CT area and adheres to safety and infection-control standards.
- Transports and positions patients for CT exams; ensures patient safety and comfort.
- Supports department operations, including training Radiology students as needed.
Requirements
- Proficiency operating CT scanners and producing diagnostic CT images.
- Ability to assist Radiologists during CT-guided interventional procedures.
- Knowledge of contrast media administration and patient monitoring per orders.
- Commitment to patient safety, sterile technique, and universal precautions.
- Capability to transport, position, and safeguard patients during exams.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced hospital radiology setting and department policies.
