Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to residents across dementia care, short-term rehab, and long-term care units, coordinating with the care team to support safe, therapeutic environments.
- Monitor and document patient status, administer medications, manage IV therapy, wounds, and geriatric assessments in accordance with care plans and facility policies.
- Perform regular assessments, contribute to care planning, and participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other care providers; communicate effectively with residents and families; advocate for resident dignity and goals of care.
- Float to other units as needed to cover staffing gaps and maintain continuity of care; adapt to diverse resident needs and behaviors.
- Uphold safety, infection control, and quality standards while maintaining documentation accuracy in the electronic medical record.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing (A.S. in Nursing) required
- Active RN license in State of Maine or a compact state; licensure in good standing
- 1–3 years of RN experience preferred
- Ability to work night shift (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) and float to other units as needed
- Strong teamwork, communication, and medical terminology skills
- Residency outside a 50-mile radius from the assignment location
- Note: Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered
