Responsibilities
- Prepare the OR and sterile field, including patient positioning and draping
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and maintaining counts of sharps, towels, and implants
- Handle implants, prosthetics, and specimens according to sterile technique
- Maintain sterile technique throughout procedures and support room turnover between cases
- Communicate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and circulating staff to ensure workflow efficiency
- Document counts and equipment usage; uphold patient safety and infection control standards
Requirements
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), active
- Experience: Travel OR experience required; Level 1 Trauma experience required; burn experience preferred
- Setting: Ability to work effectively in a hospital operating room environment with on-call requirements
- Skills: Proficiency in sterile techniques, instrument handling, and room turnover
- Work eligibility: Must be able to work a schedule that includes weekends and holidays
