Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ER, including triage, ongoing assessment, and monitoring of critically ill and injured patients
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and supportive treatments; assist with procedures as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to stabilize patients and coordinate care
- Document patient data accurately in the charting system; participate in shift handoffs
- Support stroke care pathways and maintain readiness for emergency interventions per protocol
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient ER environment; respond to rapid changes in patient status
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York (state of assignment) in good standing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- NIH Stroke Certification required prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience
- Completion of 8 hours of CEUs as part of facility orientation
- Flu vaccine or declination accepted; mask required if declining
