Responsibilities
- Operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians.
- Position and instruct patients prior to examinations to ensure proper technique and patient comfort.
- Adjust x-ray equipment and determine appropriate voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph.
- Adhere to safety protocols and radiation protection guidelines to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and ensure radiographs meet quality standards for interpretation.
Requirements
- Ability to operate radiographic equipment and perform diagnostic radiographs per physician orders.
- Proficiency in patient positioning and providing clear instructions prior to imaging.
- Knowledge of selecting exposure factors (voltage, current, exposure time) to obtain quality images.
- Availability to work a night shift schedule (4x10 nights) and manage a fast-paced imaging environment.
- Commitment to safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements in imaging.
