Registered Nurse - LTC Supervisor needed for a travel assignment in Waterloo, NY. Responsibilities
- Provide clinical supervision to nursing staff on assigned units and oversee daily patient care to ensure quality outcomes.
- Teach and guide staff on best practices, compliance with policies, and performance expectations across shifts.
- Communicate with the Director of Nursing and Nurse Managers about identified or potential unit issues; participate in problem resolution and escalate critical items after hours as needed.
- Make sound administrative decisions in the absence of DON and Administrator within the defined scope of responsibility; support continuity of care during off-shift and weekend coverage.
- Collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, ancillary services, and residents and families to maintain a healing environment and high-quality care.
- Demonstrate leadership in accordance with NYSDOH requirements and organizational standards; model professional behavior and promote teamwork.
Requirements
- License: Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure
- Certifications: BLS required through American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI system during clinical orientation
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in long-term care with supervisory/clinical lead experience across multiple units (charge-only not accepted)
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing; BSN preferred
- Additional: CPI obtained within 90 days of hire; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced long-term care setting; strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; computer literacy
