Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging studies according to department protocol.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and monitor patients for safety and comfort.
- Operate gamma cameras and image processing equipment; ensure image quality and appropriate processing.
- Maintain accurate patient records and accountability for imaging procedures.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements, including NRC guidelines, and participate in quality control and safety practices.
- Collaborate with clinicians, technologists, and nursing staff to ensure timely completion of exams.
Requirements
- New York State license to practice nuclear medicine (NYSDOH)
- Certification: CNMT (NMTCB) or ARRT Nuclear Medicine
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Certification (often included) and adherence to NRC regulations
- Ability to work in a hospital travel assignment and maintain licensure
