Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, travel assignment in Atlanta, GA. Start date: May 18, 2026 for 8 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,539–$1,626 with 36 guaranteed hours. Shift: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (12x3). This high-acuity inpatient unit focuses on surgical trauma care and spinal neuro trauma cases. EPIC experience is required; BLS is required, ACLS is preferred. Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing on a high-acuity floor. No time off requests (NO RTO) during the assignment.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to high-acuity Med Surg patients on a surgical trauma service, including spinal neuro trauma, gunshot wounds, and complex paraplegic/quadriplegic cases
- Perform comprehensive assessments, develop and adjust care plans, monitor vitals and hemodynamics, administer medications, and manage lines, tubes, and drains
- Provide wound care, postoperative care, pain management, and respiratory support as needed; identify and respond to deteriorating patient conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, pharmacists, PT/OT, social work) and participate in handoffs with ED and admitting units per protocol
- Document care accurately in EPIC; ensure patient safety, infection control, and quality measures are met
- Coordinate with Nursing Support Techs and available resources (phlebotomists, night shift unit secretary) to maintain efficient workflow and a 5:1 patient ratio
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience on a high-acuity floor; experience with spinal neuro trauma and trauma-related patient populations is preferred
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- EPIC electronic health record experience required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient setting and adapt to assigned shifts
- No time off requests (NO RTO) during the assignment
