Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and respond to questions; verify two identifiers (name and date of birth) prior to imaging.
- Perform radiologic procedures as ordered by physicians; operate CR, Fluoro, and DR systems; position patients and acquire appropriate views.
- Administer contrast media as needed, monitor for reactions, and document symptoms, history, imaging limitations, and study details in the PACS.
- Transfer images to PACS, manage image routing, and adjust study priority (STAT/URGENT) when required.
- Assist Radiologist and Fluoroscopy Tech during fluoroscopic and special procedure examinations; move portable radiographic equipment as needed; maintain sterile technique where required.
- Maintain radiation safety practices in line with ALARA principles; keep work areas clean and organized; support patient and staff with courteous service.
Requirements
- ARRT certification/registration in Radiology
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent; completion of an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program
- Experience: One year of radiology experience preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital radiology setting and communicate effectively
