Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult and adolescent ER patients, including triage, assessment, and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered; monitor for adverse effects and respond to changes in patient status
- Perform timely documentation in the electronic medical record and communicate patient progress to the care team
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other health professionals to coordinate care and ensure patient safety
- Educate patients and families on procedures, discharge instructions, and follow-up plans; participate in discharge planning as appropriate
- Maintain infection control practices, patient safety standards, and a calm, organized approach in a fast-paced ER environment
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license prior to start of contract
- Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts (3x12)
- Ability to work consecutive weekends as needed
- Travel assignment with guaranteed hours; 13-week contract term
- Prior ER or acute care experience preferred
