Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Registered Nurse, PCU (Progressive Care Unit) in Plattsburgh, NY. This travel assignment starts 04/16/2026 for 4 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,267 to $2,404 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour Nights. Work setting: inpatient PCU unit with telemetry in a teaching, acute care environment. The assignment is a Travel - Temporary (contract) role with potential unit-wide float responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult PCU patients with complex cardiac conditions, ACS, post-PCI, heart failure, and related monitoring needs
- Monitor telemetry, assess patient status, respond to alarms, and escalate changes in condition promptly
- Administer medications and infusions per physician orders and unit protocols (including insulin and cardiac drips as applicable)
- Start IV access, perform venipuncture, and assist with post-cardiac catheterization care
- Document in the Epic electronic medical record and collaborate with the care team to develop and revise plan of care
- Float to appropriate units per staffing needs as part of the Resource Float team; participate in unit coverage and ensure patient safety and comfort
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS certification required prior to start
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience; minimum 1 year of telemetry/PCU or equivalent specialty experience
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years required
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts and float to other units as needed; successful completion of 1–2 days of orientation
