Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Travel Registered Nurse – Med Surg (Surgical Trauma) is an assignment in Atlanta, GA for an experienced RN on a high-acuity surgical trauma floor. Start date is 06/28/2026 for an 8-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shifts are day, 12-hour shifts, three days per week. This role requires EPIC electronic health record experience, BLS certification, and is best suited for someone with at least 2 years in Med Surg/trauma care. No time-off requests (NO RTO) and no block scheduling.

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive bedside care for adult med-surg and trauma patients, including those with surgical injuries, gunshot wounds, and spinal injuries
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, perform ongoing assessments, and respond to clinical changes with appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with Nursing Support Technicians, phlebotomists, and unit secretaries; support handoffs from ED to the admitting unit
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, manage pain control, document care plans, and ensure accurate EPIC documentation
- Support discharge planning and patient education; participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care coordination
- Uphold unit standards for patient ratios (5:1 when applicable) and ensure smooth nurse handoffs between shifts
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license (as required by the assignment)
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg/trauma or related high-acuity care
- EPIC EMR experience
- Ability to work day shifts on a high-acuity surgical trauma unit; no time-off during the assignment; no block scheduling
- Education: RN degree or diploma (as required by licensure)
