Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered care for critically ill adult patients in the ICU.
- Monitor patient status, interpret vital signs, labs, and hemodynamic data; adjust care as needed under physician orders.
- Administer medications and therapies, manage lines and tubes, and support ventilator settings under protocol.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record; uphold safety standards and hospital policies.
- Educate patients and families, support informed decision-making, and participate in discharge planning and transitions of care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- ICU or critical care experience preferred (1+ year)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS certification preferred or as required by unit
- Ability to work nights in a high-acuity ICU environment
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and general computer skills
