Travel OR Tech Job
Lodi, CA
Contracted
Adventist Health Lodi Memorial
Mid Level
Step into the operating room as an OR Tech in California and join a mission where precision, collaboration, and compassionate patient care converge to deliver life-changing outcomes. This weeks-long travel assignment places you at the heart of surgical teams, where your meticulous scrub and circulating skills empower surgeons to excel, protect patient safety, and keep complex procedures on track from pre-op through post-op turnover. Your hands will set the stage for success: arranging sterile fields, prepping instruments, verifying counts, and passing the right tools at the exact moment they’re needed. In every case, your dedication to accuracy and teamwork helps reduce risk, accelerates recovery, and supports families during challenging moments. And beyond the operating room, you’ll discover California’s captivating scenery—from the sunlit vineyards of Lodi to the dramatic peaks and coastline scattered along the state—offering opportunities to rest, recharge, and bond with the community you serve.
Located in Lodi, California, this assignment anchors you in a welcoming, community-focused environment known for its warmth, accessibility, and strong clinical teams. Lodi’s close-knit hospitals foster collaboration and a sense of purpose that resonates far beyond the 12-hour shift. You’ll be part of a facility that prioritizes patient-centered care, continuous improvement, and supportive mentorship for OR Techs seeking to sharpen their craft. The region’s vibrant wine country, scenic river trails, and easy access to Northern California’s urban and outdoor pursuits provide a balanced backdrop for professional and personal vitality. If you’re open to expanding your horizons, the role also offers pathways to rotate to additional facilities across the U.S., exposing you to diverse surgical teams, equipment, and patient populations and expanding your repertoire as a versatile OR Tech.
As an OR Tech on this assignment, you’ll own core responsibilities that drive efficiency, safety, and patient comfort in the perioperative environment. You’ll scrub in and assist the surgeon, anticipate instrument needs, and manage instrument counts with precision to prevent discrepancies. You’ll help prepare the OR by coordinating with anesthesia and nursing staff, ensuring sterile technique, and verifying equipment readiness for orthopedics, general, or specialty procedures. You’ll assist with positioning, draping, and intraoperative instrument handling, as well as room turnover—reprocessing, restocking, and verifying sterility between cases. You’ll monitor and communicate equipment concerns, support specimen labeling, and document activities per facility protocols. Your flexible adaptability will shine as you work across case types, collaborating with circulators and surgeons to optimize workflow, minimize delays, and contribute to top-tier patient outcomes. The role is designed for growth: as you build proficiency, you’ll explore opportunities to specialize in orthopedic instrumentation, neuro or pediatric cases, and leadership basics within the OR team, while earning recognition for reliability, initiative, and surgical acumen.
Benefits and compensation are structured to recognize your expertise and your commitment to travel nursing. You’ll receive competitive weekly pay ranging between $1,593 and $1,705, with the potential for a meaningful bonus tied to assignment performance and facility needs. In addition to earnings, a comprehensive housing solution is available to ease relocation and ensure you have a comfortable home base during your travels, whether through company-provided housing or a stipend that supports private arrangements. The program emphasizes flexibility, offering weeks-long assignments with extension possibilities that allow you to deepen your clinical impact and build long-term professional relationships. You’ll also benefit from robust support services, including dedicated travel coordinators, credentialing assistance, and continuous 24/7 support while you travel with the company. This means you’ll have real-time access to guidance, scheduling, and problem resolution no matter where your assignments take you, contributing to a smoother, less stressful experience.
The company’s values center on empowering you to advance your career within a culture that prioritizes your well-being and professional growth. You’ll be supported by leaders who value your skill, integrity, and patient-first mindset, and who are committed to creating a nurturing environment where you can pursue ongoing education, skill enhancement, and pathways to greater responsibility. The organization believes in recognizing your contributions, investing in your development, and cultivating a team-oriented atmosphere where collaboration, respect, and accountability are the operational norm. Expect transparent communication, mentorship opportunities, and access to resources that help you thrive—from orientation and skills refreshers to advanced procedural training and evidence-based practice.

This is more than a job—it's a chance to join a mission-driven team that values your expertise and is dedicated to your growth and resilience in the operating room.
