Registered Nurse – ER travel assignment in Fort Bragg, CA. Start date 06/22/2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay: $1,953–$1,974. Guaranteed hours: Not guaranteed. Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts. Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adult and pediatric patients presenting to the emergency department, including triage and initial stabilization.
- Perform rapid assessment, ongoing monitoring, and timely intervention for a variety of acute conditions; recognize and escalate critical changes in patient status.
- Administer medications, initiate IV therapy, manage wounds, and coordinate diagnostic testing (labs, imaging) under physician direction.
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, case managers, and social workers to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the electronic medical record; ensure accurate handoffs during transitions of care.
- Respond to trauma activations as needed, providing triage and treatment support while recognizing that administrative and program-level trauma services are not included in this role.
Requirements
- Active RN license in the United States; California license or eligibility for practice in CA for travel assignments.
- BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred or as required by local policy.
- Minimum 1 year of ER or similar high-acuity emergency department experience.
- Ability to work a 12-hour night shift on a 3x12 schedule; capable of functioning effectively in a fast-paced ER setting.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred but not required.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills; familiarity with trauma triage and emergency care processes is a plus.
