Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing occupational therapy evaluations for residents.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans to address ADLs, mobility, cognitive tasks, and upper-extremity function.
- Deliver direct therapy interventions, monitor progress, and modify goals as needed.
- Document sessions clearly in the resident’s chart and communicate findings with the interdisciplinary team.
- Promote resident safety, accessibility, and independence while adhering to facility policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology colleagues to support comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant credential; licensure or eligibility to practice in New Mexico.
- Experience in geriatric or skilled nursing settings preferred.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a busy skilled nursing environment and commit to the assignment duration.
- Availability to start on or around the stated start date and to fulfill the 13-week contract.
