Responsibilities
- Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to critically ill adults in the CCU, applying evidence-based nursing principles.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans; communicate changes promptly.
- Administer prescribed medications via oral, subcutaneous, IV routes, and monitor for adverse reactions; document accurately.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, ventilator settings, and other life-sustaining equipment; interpret data and adjust care per protocol.
- Perform bedside procedures, prepare equipment, and assist physicians during exams and treatments; manage catheters, leads, and tubing as needed.
- Educate patients and families on post-discharge care, medications, diet, exercise, and home care needs; document education provided.
Requirements
- Active RN license within the state of practice or a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- Proof of right to work in the United States
- Critical care experience in a hospital setting
- Additional requirements for compact licensure: verification of suicide training and verification of demographic data via Nursys e-Notify
- Ability to work 3x12-hour Night shifts and meet the guaranteed hours for the assignment
