Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients requiring continuous telemetry monitoring; interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to rhythm changes and alarms promptly.
- Administer and titrate cardiac medications and IV drips per order (e.g., Heparin, Lasix, Cardizem) and assist with initiation and management of Tikosyn/Sotalol where indicated.
- Support post-procedural care including monitoring and management related to TR Band devices as applicable.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (Epic) accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan and adjust patient care, communicate changes to physicians, and participate in handoffs during shift changes.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards; assist with patient/family education and discharge planning as appropriate; may float to other acute care units as needed within competency.
Requirements
- License: Kansas RN license (KS RN)
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year recent Telemetry experience; 2–5 years of telemetry experience preferred
- Skills/experience: Telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, post-catheterization care, and familiarity with common cardiac medications and initiation processes
- Additional: Ability to work 12-hour night shifts; ability to float to all acute care units as needed; strong communication and teamwork skills; credentialing and onboarding aligned with the start date
