Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; document findings and care plans
- Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions, effectiveness, and safety
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines
- Utilize critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment to prioritize urgent needs and respond to emergencies
- Maintain patient safety, infection control practices, and provide patient and family education as appropriate
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in the applicable state
- ER/n emergency department nursing experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification encouraged in many ER settings
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts; willingness to commit to a 13-week assignment
- Successful completion of required background checks and health/credentialing processes
- Ability to work in an emergency department in an acute care setting and adapt to a fast-paced environment
