Responsibilities
- Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently producing radiologic images of diagnostic quality.
- In interventional radiology procedures, prepare and assist the Radiologist; instruct patients and administer oral contrast as needed.
- Operate all x-ray equipment, CR and DR systems; report equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead.
- Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner; use downtime for departmental tasks such as patient transport, stocking, or clerical duties.
- Maintain medication security, ensure patient rights and confidentiality, and demonstrate compassionate, respectful interactions with patients across age groups.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS; participate in performance improvement activities when warranted.
Requirements
- Active New York State license as a Radiologic Technologist (Technician License NY ONLY)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ARRT/AART certification required
- Minimum 2 years of radiology experience; interventional radiology experience preferred; neurosurgery/neuroscience experience required
- Ability to work in a day shift with 4x10-hour blocks and be available for on-call/callback per unit needs
