Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse – ER travel assignment in Hamburg, Iowa. This is a travel, temporary assignment starting 08/31/2026 for 14 weeks. The position offers 36 guaranteed hours per week on a 3x12 night schedule (7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.). The role combines working as a supervising nurse with direct patient care in both Med Surg and the Emergency Department within a hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,170 to $2,303.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a working supervisor/charge nurse for Med Surg and ER on night shifts, coordinating staffing, patient flow, and care delivery.
- Provide direct RN care for ER and Med Surg patients, including assessment, monitoring, medication administration, and ongoing revaluation of status.
- Triage patient needs, initiate appropriate interventions for emergencies, and collaborate with physicians for escalation and decision-making.
- Ensure accurate documentation, shift handoffs, and adherence to patient safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Mentor and support unit staff, promote best practices, and facilitate effective throughput and cooperation across disciplines.
Requirements
- Active RN license (state of licensure appropriate for practice)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; current RN licensure
- Prior experience as a charge nurse or supervisor on Med Surg and ER units preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and weekend coverage (Saturday–Sunday–Monday) as scheduled
- OB/Newborn stabilization training is a plus; please submit any applicable education/training
