Travel Registered Nurse ER Job

Utica, NY
Contracted
MVHS Wynn Hospital
Mid Level
Step into an ER RN role in Utica, New York, where every shift puts you at the forefront of patient care and teamwork defines the tempo of the day. As an Emergency Room Nurse, you will assess, triage, and stabilize patients with precision, rapidly interpreting vital signs, initiating interventions, and coordinating care with physicians, technicians, and families. Your actions can alter outcomes in moments, and your patient advocacy will be as critical as your clinical skills. This position offers not only a chance to refine critical care competencies but also to influence the patient journey from arrival to discharge. And when you’re off duty, you can explore the scenic Mohawk Valley, enjoy local eateries and cultural venues, or venture out to nearby outdoor retreats—the state’s beauty is never far away. For nurses who crave broader horizons, the assignment can expand to multiple U.S. locations through our national programs, providing diverse clinical experiences while maintaining the structure and support you deserve.

Utica’s community is known for its welcoming environment, affordable housing options, and access to parks, trails, and arts, all within a reasonable commute from your shift. Working here means you’re part of a robust regional health network that values rapid response times, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered communication. If you choose to broaden your exposure, the role offers opportunities to rotate through other locations across the United States, exposing you to different ED layouts, patient demographics, and acute care protocols. This breadth strengthens your resume, sharpens decision-making under pressure, and fosters professional connections that can translate into future leadership roles. The experience also presents the chance to immerse yourself in communities with distinct cultural flavors, seasonal landscapes, and unique clinical challenges, enriching your perspective while you maintain a stable, supportive contract framework.

In this role you will perform comprehensive triage, initiate life-saving interventions, manage airways and IV lines, administer medications, execute procedures under supervision, and collaborate with physicians and allied health staff to ensure timely, safe patient flow. You will document accurately, monitor laboratory results, interpret EKGs, and communicate with patients and families to convey status and plan. As you grow within the ER specialty, you’ll have access to targeted training, certifications, and mentorship that build your confidence for rapid escalation, complex case management, and potential leadership trajectories. Our benefits package is competitive and designed to reward your expertise: a weekly pay range of $2,319-$2,462, plus a possible bonus; housing assistance to ease relocation or temporary housing; extension opportunities to extend your contract if both you and the facility desire continuity; and guaranteed hours of 36 per week to support financial stability. You’ll also receive comprehensive 24/7 support from our traveling team, ensuring help is available whenever you need it—on assignment, during travel, or at onboarding. Start Date: 04/13/2026. Duration: Weeks. Please note that the hours and pay rates listed are estimates and may vary; final compensation packages and guaranteed hours will be confirmed during the hiring process.

Company values center on empowering staff, fostering career advancement, and cultivating a supportive, inclusive work environment where nurses are heard, challenged, and rewarded for excellence. We invest in your growth through ongoing education, structured onboarding, and a culture that prioritizes safety, respect, and collaboration. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where ER nurses feel valued, empowered to expand their clinical scope, and inspired to mentor others as they advance in their careers. You’ll find a community that celebrates dedication, resilience, and compassionate care, with leaders who champion your professional development and well-being every step of the way.
