Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring for adult medical-surgical patients.
- Develop and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, monitor effects, and document in the medical record.
- Respond to changes in patient condition, implement escalation protocols, and ensure patient safety.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare teammates; provide essential patient education and discharge planning.
- Document care activities and coordinate with case management for smooth transitions of care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California) required.
- BLS certification (AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS) required.
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience in the submitted unit specialty within the last 3 months.
- Acute care facility experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Ability to work in a high-acuity Med Surg setting and comply with clinical policies and procedures.
