Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and adolescent psychiatric patients, including initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, and documentation in the Epic EMR.
- Administer prescribed medications and manage Pyxis dispensing, monitoring for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions per policy.
- Apply de-escalation techniques and safety interventions; respond to behavioral health crises and support CPI-informed care when available.
- Collaborate with psychiatry, social work, nursing leadership, and ancillary staff to implement treatment plans and coordinate discharge planning as appropriate.
- Support the charge nurse as needed, including assuming charge responsibilities during assigned shifts and ensuring unit safety, staffing, and compliance with policies.
Requirements
- Active Ohio RN license
- BLS certification required
- Competency with Epic EMR and Pyxis systems
- Willingness to work 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) and to function in a charge role when assigned
- Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program (ADN or BSN)
- Experience: Behavioral health experience preferred; CPI training preferred but not required
