Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for surgical patients and their families in the operating room, ensuring safety, comfort, and professional service.
- Monitor patient status, assist with perioperative procedures, and administer medications as ordered in accordance with patient safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team to coordinate care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Triage incoming patient requests for services and manage high-volume telephone inquiries related to medications, information, and assistance.
- Delegate care appropriately within Colorado scope-of-practice guidelines and maintain HIPAA compliance and a Just Culture mindset.
- Deliver patient education to support the plan of care and promote informed healthcare choices.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Colorado or a valid compact state license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical setting and demonstrate strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and professional ethics
