Responsibilities
- Maintain continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring for adult patients, interpret rhythm strips, and promptly respond to dysrhythmias or other rhythm disturbances.
- Deliver comprehensive care for patients with renal failure, including those requiring peritoneal dialysis, monitoring fluid status, electrolyte balance, and renal-related medications.
- Administer medications, implement orders, and document care in EPIC; collaborate with the care team to adjust plans as needed.
- Coordinate with ancillary services (IV team, PT, Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Social Services, Rapid Response) and participate in discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort, perform ongoing assessments, and participate in quality and safety initiatives within the unit.
Requirements
- Active Missouri RN license or pending license accepted
- BLS/BCLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- 1 year minimum telemetry experience; 1–2 years preferred
- Peritoneal dialysis experience
- Ability to work in an acute nephrology/telemetry unit with adult patients
