Responsibilities
- Serve as the OR circulator for multiple service lines, including Orthopedics (joint replacements, trauma, sports), General Surgery (laparoscopic and open), Urology, ENT, GI, Spine, Ophthalmology, and Podiatry as needed
- Maintain sterile technique, assist surgeons, manage instruments and supplies, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively, coordinate with the anesthesia team and interdisciplinary staff, and document intraoperative events
- Develop, implement, and adjust the intraoperative plan of care in collaboration with the team; respond to changes in patient condition
- Educate patients and families pre- and post-operatively about care and recovery expectations; provide discharge planning input as appropriate
- Adhere to infection prevention practices and safety standards; participate in quality improvement activities
- Orientation and onboarding include approximately three days of initial training to align with unit processes
- Be available for call or on-site coverage as assigned, supporting OR workflow across service lines

Requirements
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license
- OR circulator experience required; at least 2 years working in the OR
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS; NIHSS certification preferred or ability to obtain
- Stroke care knowledge or exposure (STROKE) and related assessments
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple service lines and adapt to varied procedures
- Ability to work in an operating room environment and travel to a temporary assignment
