This oncology-focused nursing role involves caring for patients across age groups on the assigned unit, applying the nursing process, and coordinating with physicians and a broader health care team. The nurse will incorporate teaching and discharge planning into the overall plan of care and will delegate appropriate tasks to other licensed staff as allowed by scope of practice. The position is represented by a CNA labor group.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, evidence-based nursing care to oncology patients across age ranges on the assigned unit
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status; administer medications and therapies per plan of care
- Collaborate with physicians and the health care team to coordinate treatment and ensure safe patient transitions
- Provide patient and family education on treatment, symptom management, and discharge planning
- Delegate appropriate nursing tasks to licensed staff according to competence and scope of practice
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure effective handoffs at shift change
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- Oncology nursing experience preferred; 2+ years RN experience in oncology or related areas acceptable
- BLS certification required
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts; adaptable to a hospital environment
- Nursing degree (ADN or higher) from an accredited program
- Eligibility to work in the United States
