Responsibilities
- Provide preoperative and postoperative nursing care for patients from infant to geriatric, addressing a variety of health care needs and disease processes.
- Perform routine perioperative tasks, including assessments, technical skills, equipment operation, medication administration, and coordination of care with the surgical team and ancillary staff.
- Deliver pre- and post- education to patients and families, and assist with discharge planning and instructions.
- Monitor patient status in a fast-paced environment, respond to changes, manage documentation, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and cath lab personnel as needed to support procedures and post-procedure recovery.
- Maintain accurate records of care, procedures, equipment use, and patient outcomes; support continuity of care across shifts.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience in pre- and post-operative nursing care, with a preference for experience in a diagnostic cath lab.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced perioperative setting and to manage care across pediatric through geriatric populations.
- Proficient in patient assessment, medication administration, monitoring equipment, and discharge education.
- Strong documentation practices and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth perioperative transitions.
