Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult MICU patients with complex conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, and chronic kidney disease.
- Monitor patient status with continuous telemetry and hemodynamic monitoring; manage ventilator support and other critical-care equipment as needed.
- Administer medications, titrate IV vasoactive infusions, and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social work, to develop and execute individualized care plans.
- Respond quickly to clinical changes, participate in rapid response and code events, and uphold infection control and safety standards.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families, ensuring comfort, dignity, and clear communication.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of MICU/critical care nursing experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Ventilator management experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced MICU environment
- Flexibility to work night shifts on a 2x3 schedule
