Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and the anesthesiologist during surgical procedures, coordinating flow of equipment, supplies, and staff
- Maintain patient safety throughout the perioperative phase of care
- Participate in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment related to the operative period
- Maintain sterile technique, manage instrument counts, and ensure proper positioning and monitoring of the patient
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team, document intraoperative events, and support efficient turnover between cases
- Support the perioperative team with supply and equipment management as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license in California (in good standing)
- Perioperative or operating room nursing experience preferred
- Current BLS certification; ACLS may be required by the employing unit
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical setting and on a varied/rotating schedule
- Candidates should be able to complete facility credentialing and meet assignment-specific requirements
