The RN will partner with residents and care providers to create a safe, therapeutic environment by delivering direct and indirect nursing care across multiple units. The assignment includes three units: a 31-bed dementia care unit, a 42-bed short-term rehabilitation unit, and a 42-bed long-term care unit, providing care to residents requiring long-term placement or rehab services.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and indirect nursing care across dementia, rehab, and long-term care units in a hospital setting.
- Administer medications and perform IV therapy and wound care as indicated; conduct geriatric assessments and ongoing management.
- Monitor resident status, recognize changes in condition, implement care plans, and document in the chart; communicate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Employ dementia-focused communication techniques and behavioral support strategies; maintain a safe, home-like environment and enforce infection control practices.
- Support rehabilitation goals by coordinating with therapy services and assisting with mobility and activities of daily living as appropriate.
- Complete accurate handoffs and participate in rounds and care conferences to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing
- Licensure: Valid State of Maine RN license or compact RN license; candidates with licensure hits will not be considered
- Experience: 1-3 years RN experience preferred
- Skills: Medical terminology preferred; strong teamwork and communication; ability to work within a team of care providers; flexibility to float to other units as needed
- Additional: Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the assignment location; ability to work 7:00 pm–7:30 am shifts and cover a 24/7 schedule as needed
