Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for Med Surg Telemetry patients, including assessment, planning, and documentation of care.
- Monitor telemetry, interpret rhythm strips, respond to arrhythmias, and initiate interventions per protocol.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop, adjust, and communicate care plans; assist with discharge planning.
- Administer medications and treatments per orders, monitor for adverse reactions, manage IVs, and ensure precise charting.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, perform routine assessments, and uphold infection control and safety standards.
- Float to like units and overflow areas as needed, adapting to unit goals and staffing needs.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license required
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg Telemetry experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Current AHABLS Certification
- Ability to pass Telemetry Competency Exam and ECG/Telemetry test during onboarding (one attempt; passing score at 85%; testing may occur via Zoom; plan to test within 48 hours of offer)
- Float required: Yes
- Able to work in a hospital setting with adherence to professional development and standards
