Travel Registered Nurse PCU Job
Location Benefits:
Bangor offers a welcoming community feel with all the conveniences of a regional hub. You’ll experience a manageable city pace, a wealth of dining and recreational options, and excellent access to outdoor adventures—whether hiking, kayaking, winter sports, or scenic drives along Maine’s storied coastline. The local healthcare ecosystem is collaborative and patient-centered, providing robust mentorship and opportunities to refine critical-care competencies within the PCU framework. For travel nurses seeking breadth, this program also provides the potential to work in varied locations across the United States, allowing you to immerse yourself in diverse patient populations, hospital cultures, and clinical protocols. Each new setting broadens your clinical perspective, expands your professional network, and strengthens your adaptive communication and decision-making skills, all while maintaining a strong sense of community and support.
Role Specifics and Benefits:
- Key responsibilities: Deliver high-quality nursing care on the Progressive Care Unit, including continuous patient assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia surveillance, and early recognition of clinical deterioration. Administer medications, manage IV therapies, perform dressing changes, assist with procedures, and participate in care coordination and discharge planning. Collaborate closely with physicians, case managers, and ancillary teams to design and implement individualized care plans. Provide patient and family education, ensuring informed consent, safety, and transition of care. Maintain meticulous documentation, adhere to evidence-based protocols, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the PCU.
- Growth opportunities: This assignment emphasizes professional development within the PCU specialty, with access to targeted education, certification support (e.g., critical care or telemetry credentials), and mentorship from experienced nursing leaders. You’ll gain exposure to complex cases, sharpen triage and rapid-response skills, and position yourself for future leadership roles within acute care or travel-nurse pathways.
- Competitive compensation and incentives: Weekly pay ranges from $2,158 to $2,226, with 36 guaranteed hours to provide financial stability and predictable scheduling. A sign-on bonus may be available for eligible applicants, and there are extension opportunities to renew or transition to subsequent assignments as your goals evolve.
- Housing and relocation support: We provide housing assistance and/or stipends to ease relocation and daily living expenses, helping you focus on patient care and professional growth rather than logistics.
- Comprehensive support: You will never travel alone. The program features 24/7 dedicated support for traveling clinicians, ensuring rapid assistance with housing, credentialing, orientation, clinical questions, and any on-site needs. The travel experience is designed to be seamless, allowing you to devote energy to clinical excellence and personal well-being.
- Duration and schedule: The engagement is structured as a multi-week assignment with a guaranteed minimum weekly commitment, allowing you to plan ahead while enjoying the flexibility inherent to travel nursing. Start date is 04/13/2026, with ongoing opportunities to align length and location with your professional timeline.
