Responsibilities
- Work as part of the rehab team to provide physical therapy services under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
- Implement selected components of patient interventions, collect data related to interventions, and modify interventions as directed by the therapist to progress the patient or ensure safety and comfort.
- Assist with treatment for individuals across all ages, from newborns to the elderly, in inpatient, outpatient, and home health contexts.
- Support patient positioning, transfers, and the use of rehabilitation equipment; maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment area.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy, document progress, and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist; participate in coordination with the rehab team.
- Provide patient and family education within the scope of practice and ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards.
Requirements
- Current Colorado licensure/credentialing as a Physical Therapist Assistant with the Colorado DORA, Division of Professions and Occupations, State Physical Therapy Board, in good standing.
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program; must hold a PTA certificate.
- Verification of current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of two years of PTA experience; inpatient experience required; outpatient experience preferred.
- Ability to work in an inpatient LTAC hospital setting; competence with rehabilitation equipment and clinical procedures; strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Bilingual abilities are helpful but not required.
